3GP is the format used by 3G capable phones to capture video. It is basically the same bitstream format as QuickTime (.MOV) and MPEG-4 (.MP4) files.

3GP files usually (perhaps even always) use the H263 format for Video and AMR format for Audio.

To properly play 3GP files on the PC, you need two components- the first is FFDShow, with AMR enabled on FFDShow's Audio Decoder filter, and H263 enabled on FFDShow's Video Decoder filter. The second component is the Haali Media Splitter which should be installed with the "MP4" switch enabled.

For Zoom Player compatibility with this format, you should use at least version 4.51.
