Happy holidays everyone. I hope you're all having a nice time and got to watch Lord of The Rings, probably the best movie released in quite a long while.

I plan to release Zoom Player 2.3 in time for new year, so you'll have a new toy to play with in 2002.

A couple of rumors from around the net:

Looks like Back to the Future may be released in the UK some time during August 2002, some papers were filed with a UK government agency that rates movies I think.
Another rumor has it that Star Wars:EP2 will be released on the same months, probably a world wide release.
And lastly, Lord of the Rings (the new movie) will have a possibly release date of September 2002.

And in not-such-a-rumor bit, Plans are still to release Zoom Player v2.20 final this weekend.

Looking for another reason why U.S. people are getting the short end of the stick?

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just released Family Guy - Season 1 on DVD in the U.K.

It seems that when it comes to TV Shows, the studio execs don't seem to trust the U.S. market and rather test the waters in Europe first (see Angel/Buffy testcase).

November 13th, 2001.

Not sure how many people cought it, but yesterday I posted Zoom Player v2.20 beta 1 on the forum. This release added a very important feature to DVD users. It allowed you to manually create DVD Filter Graphs, which basically gives you the ultimate control on how DVD titles are played through Zoom Player.

For some reactions on this new feature check this link on AVSForum
