The Zoom Player Skin Competition
Zoom Player has been around for quite some time now, developing a true following
of well-educated users, who won't settle for anything less. Zoom Player's class-
leading features and capabilities have led to a great devotion from
users across the world.
A New Skin for Zoom Player!
Our goal is to give you a chance to have Your say and input on what Zoom Player
should look and feel like. If you've got the talent and skills needed to create
a new look for Zoom Player, this is your chance to make a difference.
Competition is open to all entrants, accepting all design themes.
What's in it for you?
A prize of up to $500 will be awarded to the author of the winning design.
All winning Skins chosen by our panel of judges will be considered for integration into the Zoom Player installation (more below).
Skin Competition Rules of Participation
- The skin chosen by the panel of judges to be incorporated into the Inmatrix Zoom Player installation,
entitles its creator to a prize of $500.
- In the event that no Skin is selected by the panel of judges for integration into the Zoom Player installation,
a $300 prize will be awarded to the creator of the Skin with the highest marks as judged by the Inmatrix Ltd. panel.
- Inmatrix Ltd. Employees and Family Members not eligible to enter this competition.
- Contestants may submit as many entries as they like.
- There may be multiple winners (one for each category, see below).
- Upon submission Contestants grant Inmatrix Ltd a royalty-free, perpetual and non-exclusive right and license, to use
display and distribute their copyrighted materials in the Inmatrix
Skin site
and in any Inmatrix related publications.
- Upon winning, Contestants grant Inmatrix Ltd with a royalty-free, perpetual, exclusive right and license to the conceptual design,
skin-code and graphical elements used in their submission.
- Upon winning, Contestants grant Inmatrix Ltd with the right to modify their submission to accommodate future changes/enchancements.
- Contestants declare by submission of skin material (script/graphics/etc...), that they are
responsible for ensuring that there has been no use of any copyrighted material in the creation
of their submitted Skin, and that the submitted Skin is in fact their own original creation.
- Contest entries are to be uploaded to the Inmatrix Skin site.
Competition Categories
In order for a skin to be applicable for integration into the Zoom Player
installation and eligible for the $500 prize it must enter one of two
categories:
- HTPC (Home Theater Personal Computer) Skin with emphasis on large graphics that are easily understandable at
resolutions of 1920x1080, should include a navigator background image and have
as many key functions accessible on the Control bar.
- with emphasis on clear design, easy function access, and similar functionality to the current default skin.
Must skin DVD Mode, Media Mode, Audio Mode, Control Bar functions as currently available on the default
skin, Play List Editor and Equalizer.
Skin Judging Criteria
- Winners are selected by a panel of judges appointed by Inmatrix Ltd.
- Skins will be judged primarily on the grading scale of:
- 50% - Quality of design. Namely originality, creativity, ingenuity and sophistication.
- 50% - Functionality of design. Namely technical compliance, ease and comfort of use and clarity of design.
Submission Timetable
- Submission Deadline: all Skin submissions entering the competition should be uploaded to the
Inmatrix Skin site prior to November 1st, 2005 12:00 GMT.
- The panel of judges will complete reviewing and grading of submissions to declare the winning Skin or Skins by November 15th, 2005.
- Inmatrix Ltd. reserves the right to reschedule the time table as deemed necessary.

In Addition
"DVD Mode" should include a DVD NAV(Up/Down/Left/Right/Select).
"Audio Mode" should include Display Information : Time, File Name.
